Welcome to the Sunningdale Carnival

At this site you will find all you need to know about attending or participating in the annual Sunningdale Area Carnival.

DATE AND VENUE

The Carnival has been held since 1975 and normally takes place on the second Bank Holiday in May at the Broomhall Recreation Ground in Broomhall Lane, Sunningdale. This year, 2008, unfortunately the weather was appalling and the carnival was postponed until our RESERVE date of SATURDAY 20th SEPTEMBER at 11 am.

PARADE

The Carnival opens with the arrival of the Parade, with the theme this year of THE WILD WEST, with schools, nurseries, churches and local dramatic, operatic and sporting groups providing the participants.

STALLS

Whilst the activities change every year, there are always numerous stalls run by local groups, charities and environmental organisations. (click on STALLS below for information).

ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS

There are always activities for adults and children to participate in as well as great events to watch too. Provided the weather stays fine (or mostly fine!) a good time for all the family is guaranteed! (click on Carnival 2007 to see some of last year’s fun.

LOCAL SUPPORT

The Carnival is grateful to have the support of many local businesses in the form of both sponsorship and advertising. (click on LOCAL BUSINESSES for more information) Without their generosity the Carnival could not offer the wonderful range of activities that it does every year. So please support them for supporting us!

CONTACTS

Finally, the whole event is planned, organised and run by a team of willing volunteers. . If you would like to join them in helping to put on this very worthwhile event or if you have some suggestions as to what would improve the Carnival for everybody click on COMMITTEE to see who to contact or use the e-mail link at the bottom of the committee page.

The Parade

Any suggestions for the parade are welcome - we are particularly interested in hearing from anyone in a marching band or with a veteran vehicle who would like to take part.
